Laura Allen

Laura was called to the Bar in January 2012. She practises predominantly in administrative law, with a focus on revenue law, and commercial litigation.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.

A key focus of Laura’s practice is revenue law. She appears in the Federal Court of Australia and Administrative Appeals Tribunal in proceedings for both revenue authorities and taxpayers. She is experienced in advising clients in the areas of income tax including capital gains tax, trusts, superannuation, and state based taxes and duties.

Other areas of administrative law in which Laura practices include occupational regulatory matters including for health practitioners and legal practitioners, and applications for judicial review.

She has appeared in QCAT, the Magistrates Court, District Court and Supreme Court of Queensland in matters varying from customs and border protection matters to property and general commercial disputes.
